Community Involvement PDF Print E-mail

The community is considered to be a valuable part of the team involved in the preparation of a Floodplain Risk Management Study. More specifically, the community will be able to provide valuable input into the following study components, which will be crucial for managing the flood risk across the catchment:

- Raising awareness in the community about the risk of flooding and appropriate actions that individuals can take to help reduce the flood risk

- Suggesting options to help manage the flood risk

A project pamphlet and questionnaire will be distributed to households and businesses within the catchment. The questionnaire will provide you with an opportunity to share your past flooding experiences and make suggestions on ways in which the flood risk can be reduced. An online version of the Questionnaire is also available here.

You can also meet with the study consultants at your property to share your experiences and ask questions about the study. The consultants will be available on Tuesday 22 August, Wednesday 23 August or Thursday 24 August between 12 noon and 7pm. Please contact Neil Dufty on (02) 9354 0300 or email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to book a meeting.

The closing date for this round of community consultation is Friday 31 August 2017. Further consultation with the community will occur during subsequent stages of the project.

Your contributions to the study are greatly appreciated and will help to ensure the study is a success.
